We recently had the pleasure of having Bob Mackey facilitate our board retreat.  Bob met with me and the board president prior to the retreat to ensure his preparation was aligned with our needs.   He has an engaging presence that enabled him to connect with all participants.  As a long-time superintendent, he has a vast amount of experience to share with others.  He is well organized, knowledgeable, reflective, and easily connects with people.   I would not hesitate to have him come back to work with us again. - Jen Cappelletti, Scio Central School Superintendent

We had the pleasure of having Jenn train our school leadership team this summer, using the DiSC behavior profile as a framework. She was well prepared, motivating and engaging throughout the training. The true measure of any professional development is how the knowledge gained will be used in the future. Jenn's training concluded with steps and tips to use our newly acquired skills in our professional and personal lives and I am confident the lessons learned during this training will be used for years to come by our school leaders. I highly recommend having Jenn facilitate any training that our organization is considering. - Antonio Abitabile, Superintendent of Schools - Lansingburgh CSD

Educators, if you get a chance to participate in a Listening Circle for Educators with Jennifer Bashant, take the time to do so. It is worth it! - Heather McMahon Vargas, Superintendent of Schools at Ridgway Area School District

I highly recommend Bob Mackey! His keynotes are funny, engaging and the perfect way to kick off a Superintendent's Conference Day or other event to get teachers motivated or encouraged for the school year! Bob's friendly, down to earth style allows him to connect with all audiences. His charm and ability to get the audience to participate in his keynote is certainly appreciated as well. His focus is on relationships and connections amongst both students and staff--is a much needed reminder in our day to day focus on well being and mental health. - Michelle Osterhoudt, Superintendent, Margaretville Central School District

Jennifer has provided professional development and consultation to elementary and secondary staff in the Saratoga Springs City School District for the last two years. She provided staff with a trauma informed perspective and modeled hands-on strategies for working with challenging behaviors. Jennifer is professional yet flexible and was able to tailor her services to meet our needs. She was well received by staff on all levels. We look forward to working with her again. - Diane Davis, Social Worker, Saratoga Springs City School District

Bob came to us with a great deal of positive energy. This is exactly what our team needed! It was so valuable for us to share our personal stories so that we could strengthen our team by understanding each other better. Bob reminded us of the importance of bringing a positive attitude to all that we do with an element of fun! - Annette Hammond, Superintendent, Gilbertson-Mount Upton CSD

WHAT TEACHERS ARE SAYING ABOUT OUR TRAUMA SERIES FOR EDUCATORS:

I'm just more aware of how/why kids react to situations in a school setting.

I used some of the relationship building components with my mandated students.

I have tried to be more understanding as a teacher and looking at their behavior from the student's perspective verses a teacher perspective, even to the point where I have decided how hard I may or may not push the student about completing work based upon their mindset.

I am more aware of kids who may be reliving trauma, so I try to wait and bring their attention back to the classroom.

Each day I stop and think about where my children are coming in from and remember to give them time to adjust to the expectations of the day.

Giving students more time/flexibility and partnering with them to find solutions.

Behaviors are communication and I need to respond to the need which helps diffuse the situation. I have used some meditation and grounding techniques. I am more sensitive/aware.

Working on building stronger relationships with students in my class & noticing how each student is feeling.

I have tried to shift my focus from behavior based to a more strengths-based approach.

This was ideal and I feel everyone in education should have training like this as a component of our progress towards a degree.

I’m so glad it is being well received. I’ve heard other positive feedback from your sessions in the past and again for this session. Truthfully, I use your workshops to target our management team in a way that I do not do with other offerings because of the intellectual approach to wellness you provide – it doesn’t surprise me that our group connects with you. Look forward to the next one! -Colleen Tetreault, Employee Benefits and Wellness Program Analyst at CDPHP

I really enjoyed your workshop! I’m going to recommend my teammates watch it too. - Jessica Ward, CDPHP
